Who We Are
Kismet Farms Riding School is a branch of our Kismet Farms horseback riding competition program, focused on the development and progression of riders. We aim to build and support riders through their equestrian careers by teaching foundational skills of horsemanship and riding, to progress abilities and goals.
Our riding school welcomes beginners and those who have ridden in the past and are looking to continue developing their skills. We seek to advance our students toward ownership and competition. For this reason, we do not currently offer one-off or a-la-carte lessons.
All riders new to our program will start with a private one-hour evaluation lesson ($120 to be paid prior to lesson start). This allows us to evaluation current skill level and get to know you, and for you to get to know us! After the evaluation lesson, our team will let you know the appropriate riding level to sing up for.
Our Horseback Riding School
Our horseback riding lessons are taught in sessions. We will spend these sessions progressing our riders’ skills, confidence, and competency both on the ground and in the saddle so that all of our riders have a well-rounded foundation in the sport.
While trainers will always be close at hand, skills on the ground encompass being able to independently walk the horse to and from crossties, tack up with appropriate tack and safety equipment, cool out, untack, and any other necessary care. Skills in the saddle will be a continuous progression as the rider advances.
To keep our horses happy and healthy, the week after each session is reserved for them to rest, recover, and recharge. Our trainers also take this week to re-evaluate students and make any adjustments to lessons and scheduling to match student progression.
