While many may know Tracy Bowman as the trainer of multiple CCI4* riders at Kismet Farms, and be familiar with her consistent presence on the West Coast Eventing scene, Tracy is also a keen competitor in Combined and Para Driving. So keen, in fact, she has been selected as a Nominated Entry to represent the United States at the FEI World Para-Driving Championships for Singles in Kronenberg, Netherlands.
But now we need your help! Tracy and Bella have a specially designed custom carriage, and the cost to get them, and their carriage to Europe and back will be about $30,000.

We could not get to the Netherlands without your assistance, thank you, every little bit is greatly appreciated.
Tracy Bowman

Tracy, a certified Instructor with the British Horse Society, began her thriving three-day eventing competition business in 1984 in California. Tracy has produced multiple riders to the CCI4* level and mentors many young professionals. She began competing in combined driving 8 years ago, but her partner for the last 7 years has been Taylormore Laurabelle. They were instantly competitive, and have only gotten more consistent with time.
Taylormore Laurabelle, “Bella”
Bella, a welsh cob, is known for her strength, consistency and competitiveness. While the dressage phase is not her favorite, her trot is fancy enough to get her the scores she needs to be set up in a good position for the next two events. She is able to read the obstacles with cunning accuracy on marathon, and more often than not is already turning in the correct direction before Tracy has even had a chance to tell her where to go. She always has enough go for cones on the final day, and it is rare that she has a ball down.
This year she and Tracy won the advanced intermediate division at Clay Station. She also won the Shady Oaks CDE Advanced Single Pony division in 2017, came in 2nd in the 2016 Shady Oaks CDE Intermediate Single Pony division and won the 2015 Sargent CDE Intermediate Single Pony division.
About Para Driving
Para Driving, the same as the sport of combined driving, consists of three phases: dressage, marathon and cones. Tracy qualified for the World Championships while competing against able-bodied drivers.
Driven dressage is marked on the regularity of paces, ease of movement and correctness of bending of the horse on the move as well as style and accuracy, within a 100 x 40m arena.
The marathon tests the fitness and stamina of the horses and the skill and judgement required to handle the horses through a challenging course with a number of obstacles; penalties are incurred for, amongst other things, an error on course, dismounting, damage to the carriage or a deviation from the course.
The cones phase sees an arena of 70 x 120m test the combinations; cones with a weighted ball on top are positioned to mark the course, if a cone is knocked the combination incurs penalties. Speed and cone width are adjusted depending on the level of competition.
